The purpose of the photographic symbol was to develop and design a book cover with a picture of an ordinary object(s). Originally, I had an apple as my object, so naturally the books Twilight, Snow White, and The Giving Tree became my inspiration for the book cover. Later experiments shows that I was inspired by wood, paper, and trees to accomplish a cover for "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. In the book, the tree gives her boy parts of her so the boy can be happy, so I did my best to portray that lessons I learned on this cover. As a result, the cover was simplified and more interesting to look at.
